Voronova Lucy exhibition at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art
 

Oct. 21 at the Museum of Modern Art at Petrovka, 25 one-day exhibition was held Lucy Voronova, dedicated to the presentation of the new album of her works. The exhibition was presented entirely new paintings, 2009 and 2008. Prior to that seen in many reproductions on paper, on the Internet, but the live experience, of course incomparably greater - something surprising.

Especially liked two things: "Queen of clowns" in 2009 and "Self Portrait" Big Love ". Piercing work. In general, choose a theme as a backbone depiction of people and emotions - a bold step. In the sense that it is the most illogical way to success, for recognition. Images of strangers on the well-known commercial logic sold much worse than the universal still lifes and landscapes.
Lucy is and still lifes. Original, catchy: and black, almost "Zhostov" on the palette (it sits on just such a background) and, conversely, contrasting bright, closer to the popular "Dymkovo" theme. Decorative - yes. But still feels that the people - is important in the work of artist, mainly interested in its theme. People in joy and in sorrow. People without that protection. People without masks. Even when their faces are covered with clownish makeup.

Yet it has interesting still-lifes on the floor (in the sense of nature are placed on the floor), but those she did several years ago. In this exhibition, they were not.

I am not a connoisseur of creativity Lucy, but the impression that there has been rapid growth in the creative or that I simply know more? Patterns, designs in the fields, animals, birds - the figures are no longer lonely ..
A bit annoying twin fabric, it would be solid.
A pity that I was not in Moscow ...
