Interesting article on the site Openspace.ru
---------------------------------------------- Alexander Popov Gallery's collection in Paris - one of the most prominent in the world and unique in its wholeness. And in the field of porcelain, and in watercolors - this is the best to date collection. -------------------------------------------------- --- For two days, 12 and 13 October, 2009, auction house Christie's will sell the collection in London's famous Galerie Popoff & Cie - the oldest now existing Russian antique shops of Paris. It was founded in 1920 by an officer of the Imperial Army, Alexander Popov, who stayed in France after the Revolution of 1917. Once in exile, he opened an antique gallery in the heart of Paris, in the house 86 to prestigious Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honore, directly opposite the Elysee Palace. Gallery Popov and K ° »successfully engaged in the sale of French and German art, but its owner acquired for a Russian thing - especially china and watercolors of the XIX century. Russian colony in Paris in 1920 she lived very close, so soon in the environment of emigrants became aware of the collector passion Alexander Popov. Everyone who has taken away into exile family values, be it service or a portrait of Catherine's great-grandmother's hand, Vladimir Hau, knew where best to go to Paris - of course, in the Galerie Popoff. It is a pity that Russia's Government did not order any oligarch to buy the whole assembly Popov.
Pity. This amazing collection dissipated. Where Vekselberg and Usmanov? And Mrs. Baturin, could buy all this and give Russia! And just think about yourself! |
Цитата:
This Usmanov gave the state, and Vekselberg is not presented. He left the eggs themselves. A collection of really interesting. While private collectors, too, that you should leave. And it so soon and will have nothing to sell. ;) |
Still, thanks Vekselberg!
For the joy of communicating with a fine. It is unlikely that Forbes showed his collection in Russia. And since so many people have seen such beauty! |
