Portrait of an old man - a familiar manner?
Вложений: 3
Colleagues,
At one of the Western auctions stumbled here on this portrait. I do not know why, but it reminded me of a portrait of Dostoyevsky (work Perov, I think) - this general impression, and realistic writing, and drama performances. The artist is unknown. Abstract indicates the expected 20-th century (domyslivayu that the first third, no more, although such a plot and brushwork rather typical for the last third of the 19 th century, in my opinion). What do you think depicts a Russian man or not? Or just think of the proximity to Western European and Russian schools of painting the late 19 th century? |
If you play a guessing, then assume that Busse, perhaps the author's name. And namesakes even artprayse lot. Somehow it seems to me that the model from Poland. And of course, hardly a Russian man.

Well, I also thought about Bussy first thing. But the auction house is not in vain wrote "unknown artist", there "Bussy" written in pencil on the stretcher. But wedges beard, but parted in the middle ... If it were not for the nose, spitting would have been a merchant of Murom some! :)
