   In the late 20-ies the 19 th century, the brothers Tomas and Frantisek Gröbner founded around Dačice small sugar plant. In this case, the brothers already had the experience gained while working in similar enterprises in France and Germany. But with business acumen have Grebner was obviously not all right.
In Dačice never had suitable conditions for growing sugar beet - the main feedstock for the production of sugar and brothers Gröbner very quickly realized that to grow beets here will not work. In 1829, they planted three hectares of its land, but in 1832 left this venture.
One of the brothers Grebner - Francis, in 1833, opened in the center Dačice Sugar Factory. Initially, it processed only imported cane sugar, and later - raw sugar from the Czech. The plant has created many new jobs for citizens and for visitors. In 1840, the factory director was appointed Jakub Krystof Rad.
Jakub Krystof Rad came to from Vienna, although he was originally from Switzerland. Undoubtedly, this was a very gifted man, he later became famous for a number of other inventions.
