The American collector found thousands of stolen property in Italy
 

In the house of an American collector John Sisto (John Sisto), who died in 2007, the FBI found thousands of valuable artefacts, stolen or exported from Italy, reports agency Associated Press.
The cost of collection, stored in a house in the town Beruin Sisto, Illinois, is estimated from 5 to 10 million dollars. It has about 3500 items, with about half - stolen.
Among them Etruscan artifacts dating back to 900 and 500 years BC. e., parchments and manuscripts, some of which belong to the XII century, as well as more than a thousand books and other documents written by kings and popes.
The collection also collected more modern, but no less valuable samples, such as a handwritten preface to the book Benito Mussolini, his mistress, Margherita Sarfatti "Dux" ( "Chief"), published in 1926.
As noted in the FBI, has been compiling a collection of his father, John Sisto - Joseph (Giuseppe) systems - who lived in Italy and, apparently, has bought up the value of the thieves, steal them from private collections.
Since the early 60-ies Giuseppe began to ship the purchased value in the U.S. to his son and did that until his death in 1982. Presumably, he hoped that his son John Sisto will be able to sell the artifacts to the United States.
However, as believed by the FBI, Sisto Jr. himself was interested in artifacts and left almost the whole collection at home, although it is possible that some items were still sold them. It is reported that all the stolen property acquired system will be refunded in Italy.
