Baumgartner, Adolf Stoilov, Konstantin (1850 - 1924)
Bulgarian origin. In 1880 he studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. He became famous as the author of works depicting horses, scenes of hunting and racing. Also writing genre paintings, developing the theme of the military life of the Cossacks. Paintings and drawings by the artist reproduced in magazines 1890 - 1900's. Works are in museums and private collections in Europe. His compositions with the horses are in great demand on the antiques market. Many works are stored in the South African meeting George Bibikova - representative of an old noble family and heir to the Russian emigrants.
And yet ... Still plagued by my vague doubts. I read the examination of M. Krasilina - "Adolf Baumgartner, Konstantin Stoilov,". I looked at the picture and somehow think that these are two different artists - Baumgartner, and cost: D: D: D
The last painting "Peasants in the rest belongs to me.

Wladzislaw, as I understand it, the real name of one Adolf Baumgartner, a pseudonym Konstantin Stoilov, he was born in 1850, and died in 1924. Right? And on the other you know something?

Both have the same names. Born around the same time (now I can not find the year), one died in 1924, the second, it seems, in 1926.

One used a pseudonym, early works signed by A. Baumgartner-Stoiloff, the late C. Stoiloff and C. Stoiloff jun. Why it became known as "Konstantin Stoilov" I do not know, do not remember having met with the name "Constantine".
