In the State Tretyakov Gallery on the Crimean see a portrait I. Ostroukhov, Author-Verbov MA 1896-1996. One hundred years the artist lived, but I do not know.

Verbov Mikhail
(9) 10.12.1896-04.04.1996 Born in Yekaterinoslav (Dnepropetrovsk). He studied law in Petrograd University and painting at the Repin. Shot to fame portraitist (Sobinov, Bunin, Grechaninov). He emigrated to France in 1924. Moved to U.S. in 1933. Vice President of Professional League of American painters, wrote to celebrities and members of royal families around the world.
  Began law student at the Petrograd University, but then went to the Academy of Arts. Revolution and civil war, throwing him to Tashkent, where he was director of the Tashkent Museum of Art. In 1924 he travels abroad. List of his artistic inspiration includes kings and politicians, farmers and fishermen. Known as the "painter of kings". Works M. Werbowy can be found in museums of many countries. In 1973 Verbov was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Fine Sciences in Rome. He taught painting at Columbia University in New York and other universities. His contribution in his portrait 56 subscribers Declaration of Independence of the United States of America to the 200-year anniversary was marked by President Ford. In 1988, he was introduced to the House of Fame the Congress of Russian Americans.
