On May 21 Galeev-gallery exhibition opens Victor Ufimtseva (1899-1964) "Samarkand".

Multifaceted Samarkand accommodate things: the ancient history of the Timurid, and geography of the Great Silk Road, medicine and philosophy of Avicenna, astronomy Ulugbek. Remember, as here confided poetry algebra famous hedonist Omar Khayyam, as a world enriched by the discoveries of archeology and Masson Barthold. This also will add the majestic ruins and the magnificent architectural complexes of Islamic architecture, Samarkand chess - the oldest in the world (VII - VIII cc.). About the same time (750 years) there began to produce paper, ahead of Europe for six centuries. For more impressive pictures lacked an essential element of civilization - art.

For the Russian man of the twentieth century (in our case - the painter) is no more native, mellifluous names of Asian capital - not just the city, and the universal image of the East, attractive to the imagination and creativity.
