New works by Ilya Shanin
 

In April 2015, sculptor Vladimir I. V. Shanin completed sports a Suite dedicated exclusively to female nudity. All pieces in this series are cast in bronze designed by author wax, which are lost in the casting process, what makes the work unique. The sports theme in these works related to the theme of the Amazons - a warlike and powerful. The creation of these figures was not confined to any exhibitions or to participate in any contest. We are told the author, he just suddenly have an overwhelming desire to create pieces in which the beauty of the body and the shapes could be combined with lively movement and simultaneously with sculptural sustainability. All these works were created in an extremely short timeframe, a single creative impulse, in the same breath. A momentary outburst of creative energy has become the key to amazing wholeness and completeness of each of these works. Ilya Shanin is a graduate of the Saratov art school, he is the winner of a competition organized by the Tretyakov gallery. Better known abroad than in Russia. A number of works of the sculptor is in Russian museums.
