13-14 May 2009 Bukowskis auction house puts a spring auction in Helsinki, a large section of Russian art, which amount to almost half of the total trading volume.
Find in Finland imperial furniture set from the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg has become a sensation on the art market. PAINTING

Among the most significant works of Russian Art - The Museum's painting "The Capture of the Turkish steamer" Mersin "Russian cruiser" Russia "in the Black Sea on Dec. 13, 1877, embodying a historical episode that occurred during the Russian-Turkish War (1877-1878) . Option paintings of the same name located in the Naval Museum in St. Petersburg.
Another top lot will sheet Korovin, which shows Anna Yakovlevna Korovin, wife of the artist. The picture is typical of the artist's version of a representative composition, which combined genres of portraiture, interiors, still life.
Also on auction will be works by the greatest masters of Russian painting AV Ginet, JF Schultze, L. Lagorio, K. Makovsky, Ilya Repin.

APPLIED ART

The most unique lot of this section is an imperial furniture. Set silver plated furniture of the 11 items included in the decoration of the private apartments of the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, - the Silver Room of the Winter Palace.

Unique furniture has been executed in the workshop of furniture master Nikolai Fedorovich Svirsky in St. Petersburg in 1894. Necklace was the first order of the imperial couple to the supplier yard Svirsky, and the classic style of furniture was a tribute to the conservative taste of the Empress.

Sketches for furniture were carried out by the architect Nikolai Vasilyevich Nabokov, who in general has developed a draft design of the private apartments of Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna, including draperies. Another outstanding matter originating from the imperial household, is richly decorated shot flintlock rifle, made by masters Gavrila Permyakova in St. Petersburg (about 1770) to Catherine the Great, Paul I, and a gift to the Swedish envoy Count Johan Christoffer Tolle.

The picture reflects a historical episode that occurred during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. When the December 13, 1977 Russian cruiser "Russia" under the command of NM Baranova took the biggest in the history of the wars in the Black Sea, "a prize" (t . e. captured an enemy ship) - Turkish steamer "Mersin. On "Mersin" was a battalion of Turkish troops, a lot of public money, silver ore, precious things, the government paper. "Russia" with "Mersin" came to Sevastopol.
From the literature about the artist knows that he twice immortalized this event: the moment when both vessels were close to the Turkish port Penderaklii, and during the approach to Sevastopol. Paintings vary considerably in composition. The first option is known: it is in the Naval Museum in St. Petersburg. The second option, kept in a private collection in Finland, presented to the current auction.

Twice for the post of sales at Bukowski, Helsinki distorted name of the famous Russian jeweler Michael Perkhin, turned it into Perchina.
If the Finns can not correctly pronounce and convey to the reader's Russian name, the proofreaders on the site can not help noticing.
This is unacceptable!

Outstanding Russian jeweler Michael Evlampievich Perkhin (1860 - 1903)
Born in the village Okulovskaya Olonetsk province, not far from
