Honored artist of Russia (1993). People's artist of Russia (2001). The winner of the prize. C. K. Byalynitsky-Birula (2002). Honorary citizen, Kolomna (2003). Since 1964, he studied at the Moscow art-industrial College. M. I. Kalinin. In 1971 enrolled in University art faculty workshop professors I. A. Spinel, and A. Myasnikov. In 1977-1983 worked in the Creative workshop of painting of the Academy of arts of the USSR under the guidance of A. P. and C. P. Tkacheva, and A. M. Gritsai. Moscow, Republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions since 1975. In 1985 and 1987 he was awarded diplomas of the Academy of arts of the USSR. In 1995 he was awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. Member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR since 1980 Solo exhibitions were held in Kolomna (1982), in Moscow(1989,1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2004), in many other Russian cities, as well as in Rome (Villa Abamelek, 2000), Naples (2001) and Paris (2003, 2004). Works are in the Tretyakov gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, in many regional museums and in private collections in Russia and abroad.
