The perspective of different niches to work in the next 5-10 years?
 

I would like to hear the opinion of the forum members on the most promising areas for commercial galleries, beginning work in a new time of troubles. Talking about Russia, and for the most part - about Moscow.

In my opinion, more or less accessible for the uninitiated, and have some commercial potential in the following areas:

1) Collectible art artists of the second and third series, has made a name for at least 10-15 years.

2) the Art of young artists with the chance to enter the TOP for 5-10-15 years, and potentially demand by collectors.

3) the Unique DPI of different quality and prices, demand for interior decoration (may have artistic value, as a bonus).

4) Mass and replicable work - posters, prints, pictures - again, used for interior decoration - budget, but using mass demand (a La posters from IKEA).

I deliberately leave out of consideration the direction that is almost impossible to raise without connections, experience and money, like working with artists of the first row or Antiques.

If your friends asked you for advice about niches for new gallery - what would you have advised them of the listed items, or suggested to pay attention to some other areas?

I think it would be better to find a new ,not overexposed authors of any age ,but within the creation of your gallery face. Try to do these authors sign their gallery.It is desirable from other regions and do not have their own sites, etc.It is difficult to find worthy and little-known ,but it is more interesting.To combine its operations with those authors who already have a weight-to support its members and commercial buoyancy at the first stage.The items listed you will make the decision
you're on your taste and your network clients.

Maskit, if I can summarize, you propose to focus on the No. 2 (unknown young promising) and to balance its No. 1 (commercially held on the second or third echelon), right?

I like this approach, though I doubt that nowadays you can find authors who have not yet acquired sites, Facebook and other blessings of civilization.

Why focus on the regions?

,Aquarius ,on the regions of the recommended focus for Moscow .In Moscow many aspiring artists want money for their work,which in the regions want to get professionals with history.-it to you to !-mu item.And,moreover, surrounded by your gallery will always spin and offered to authors living nearby with whom you work.
