The Museum of naive art presents a solo exhibition of Armenian naive painter Edmond Petrosyan. His intimate and lyrical paintings tell about the ancient stillness of the mountains and ancient depth of feelings.

Edmond grantovich was born 16 December 1948, in Shushi (Nagorno Karabakh). Father was from an educated family - the son of a kulak, an architect by education. The mother was illiterate. Studied Edmond in the extended school in Stepanakert. Then I arrived in Krasnoyarsk Institute of public utilities. What year was admitted and in which he graduated from, can not remember. Specialty worked in the factory of construction materials of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous oblast, taught at the school in Stepanakert. In 1977, married and has a daughter named DEA. In the military conflict did not participate, only guarded the homes of those who fought – although, apparently, the conflict has influenced his painting.

Draw Edmond grantovich began in the 80-ies. Works on cardboard, creating a small format paintings and not seeking publicity. He is a man of few words and likes to repeat that it is not necessary to speak about anything, if there is no need. His own attitude to creativity mystified and sensual: says to "something", and then it is taken to draw – sometimes a whole year without writing, it all depends on this "something". Picking up a brush, he inhabits the confined space of a small pattern of black donkeys and white-haired elders, gromozda majestic mountains and tightly fits into the rectangle ruffled multi-colored bouquets. Petrosyan also creates an archaic form of sculpture and art objects (composition of multiple artifacts).

Viewers meet with the paintings Petrosian same as decades ago met with the paintings of an obscure peasant self-taught artists. Each holiday or on the day of election Edmond grantovich takes their "donkeys" and down to "the patch", is a famous place in Stepanakert. Sometimes going to a crowd of the curious, and even formed a line of people waiting to see the works of Edmund. The artist's works are in many private collections around the world, mainly the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora, as well as in several Russian museums.
