Soviet painter, primarily a portraitist, honored art worker of the Uzbek SSR (1964), teacher. "Made a great and valuable contribution to the art of Soviet Uzbekistan" (Shostka, 1982).
Come from a family of Bukharan Jews. From 1935 to 1941 he studied at Samarkand art school of realist p.p. Benkov, then, in 1942(1943?) in 1949, at the Moscow art Institute. Surikov in C. C. Gerasimov and I. E. Grabar. Thesis - "a Group portrait of the oldest Russian Bolsheviks". Participant of exhibitions since 1949 (Tashkent). Solo exhibitions were held in Tashkent (1969, 1975), Samarkand (1982).
A significant portion of his contemporaries is in lags of Uzbekistan (Tashkent)
