Stereoscope (Nicholas II)
 

Good day. Please help to assess table stereoscope.

The late XIX - early XX century Mahogany. The internal drum 100 stereo pairs. Revolves. The preservation is excellent. The kit also about 400 stereo pairs (100 in the drum 300 in boxes). Photo attached :)

According to legend, according to the seller (and the stereoscope was purchased back in the old Soviet Union, the old grandfather to my dad) this stereoscope from the laboratory of Nicholas II. In his words captured photo with the travel of the Romanov family, however what history is silent. On the photo one can see the photos from Europe, Africa, Asia (?) with Slavic faces on many of them, at the same time to assert that it Romanovs I do not undertake.

All slides were paper, on the example of Switzerland. Suspension bridge", "Egypt. The village near Cairo", but unfortunately almost all papers lost.

I have prepared some questions for the esteemed visitors and connoisseurs :)

1. How many such stereoskop can cost with slides? As with the "Romanov" history and without.
2. Please tell me any specific literature or website where you can identify the "Royal" person. In the photo there are duplicate faces, but before a detailed study of all 400 slides (and I'm going to do it), I would also look at the Romanov family.
3. Stereophoto even for today's technology looks just gorgeous with great pleasure. Is it possible somehow to "digitize". It is unclear why has thrown stereophoto, it really is the 21st century!!!

Is there any opinions? :(

This stereoscope is worth about a thousand dollars, +/-.
But
can stand much more of this stereoscope.

Thanks Cyril. Looked at their website, the search found nothing. I'm also in Kiev and the Kiev branch of the auction house "Gelos" not the best to be honest.

Also searched prices stereoscopes and objects of the Royal family. So I will attribute a family photo :)

For the price I think 10 000.E. and much higher if I find there's royals.

Continue attribution photo. Wanted to ask, can someone tell expert on the Royal family? Unfortunately not having a normal devices for capturing images of the slide, it is hard to discern.

Put a few photos, which turned out to be "less". Maybe if there are experts that will help :)

One photo from Egypt, there is even a car with a readable number! :shy:

P.F. Looked through all the cards. There are about 50 pieces negatives as I understand it, although they look like normal stereo pair, only in reverse :) a Few negatives and positives.

Kirill, I also thought to trace the geography of travel of Nicholas II and to correlate it with the geography of the areas depicted on the stereo, it is easy. And search in the iconography of the Royal family are not required here. On the other hand, know from experience that things from the "Royal family" later random owners often gave and give the items belonging to the great princes and members of their families. It may be that the owners of the stereoscope makes sense to work in this direction.
