These nails are called " TKA " although it was a deficit , artists have used them everywhere until recently ( before the advent of staplers ) , was comfortable with them to pull the canvas with one hand ... you can stick a nail in a stretcher as a button, and then score a hammer , and the second hand free , that would pull the canvas.
