Petrushevsky researched technology painting, color pigments , palette luminosity , the ratio of primary and secondary colors. All this he reported to the students of the Academy of Fine Arts and the University , where he lectured .
 In the sphere of art Petrushevsky developed methods for determining the coefficients of reflection of light colored surface , the average hue multicolored paintings , etc. He has been extensive experimental data on the physical properties of oil used for the manufacture of oil-based paints . @
