Sergei Korovin ( August 7, 1858 , Moscow - 13 October 1908 , ibid) - Russian painter , genre painter , his brother Konstantin Korovin .
Born into a wealthy merchant family of Old Believers .
His father - Alexis , a university graduate, mother - Apollinaris Ivanovna , nee . Volkova , came from a noble family .
1876-1886 - studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under Vasily Perov , AK Savrasova , IM Pryanishnikova .
1888-1907 - taught at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, with a break in 1894-1898 gg.
Member of the Union of Russian Artists .
Continued the tradition of art Wanderers ("Before the punishment" , 1884 , Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, Moscow ) . One of his most significant works - painting "On the World" (1893 , Tretyakov Gallery) has a peculiar composition and is a response to the events taking place among the peasants after the 1861 reform .
