Good day!

On your assessment seems picture supposedly Alexei Markov Tarasovich . Unsigned authorship indicate only paper in German (by hand) and Russian ( like cutting from the encyclopedia ) , new rear. It also includes some printing ( wax ?) And a sticker with the accession number (?) , What suggests that the painting was owned by the illustrious Prince George Maximilianovich .

But because the stickers sorts ponakleit . What about painting, canvas stretcher ? It likely Markov ?

Oil on canvas, 100x75 size .

Thank you!

While pondering all certainly putting all affairs indefinitely amused you with its surface reflections.

Alexei Markov Tarasovich wrote , as I see it , monumental canvases , large in size and significance. Subjects took mostly biblical , ancient or historical (Socrates , talking with students ) . Represented by the product , if it is assumed that this script can be either a preparatory work for some other picture , or a fragment of the picture, which is not entirely preserved. In favor of the first version says some individual parts being unclear .

Cracelures almost there, I must say .

The most notable thing in it - painting "Fortuna and the Pauper" in 1836, bought by Emperor Nicholas Pavlovich, now in the Museum.

In your estimation

Utagawa Kunisadovich, sell this painting as Attributed to Markoff and only at the start in 7000 of Swedish kronor, ie, approximately one in 1060 U.S. dollars.

If you like, hurry up and buy until the auction is not over yet.
Risk nothing.

Madam Jane Doe,

You all are right , but that last sentence I do not understand . I would gladly and enthusiastically invest SEK 7000 (and even more , which is already there ) in a piece of Russian history and culture . But if the author of this painting is not Alexei Markov Tarasovich , and, say , Mastodon Granatovich Fintiflyushkin - Belvedere , then I'm sure you can find a much more worthy use seven thousand Swedish kronor, as you have correctly calculated in U.S. dollars comes out to about a thousand . For example, the money could buy about thirty cases of beer " Gold Norrland " or , if you prefer Czech , about twenty-four cases of beer " Krushovitse " , sometimes referred to simply as Krusha .

Utagawa Kunisadovich, I see that Markov favored deliberate saliency characters.
Contrast this picture with the discussion.
