Kandinsky Prize
 

In Moscow in the evening on December 12 announced the winners of the Kandinsky Prize . The winner in the category " Project of the Year " was Irina Nakhova with the project " Untitled" convey our correspondents .

Tim Parchikov with the project "Times New Roman. Episode 3 : Moscow " and Eugene polishers with the project "Positions" shared the award for " The young artist . Project of the Year ."

The " No Name " consists of three parts connected to each other : three-channel video " Untitled " print on canvas " skater " and to " Steering Composition ."

All parts of the project built on personal documentary materials from the archives of the family I.Nahovoy and photographs taken by it in different periods . In total, these materials cover almost a century : from 20 - ies of the last century to the present .

The total prize fund this year's award amounted to 50 thousand euros , which corresponds to international practice of national awards in the field of contemporary art. 10 thousand young winners will receive another 40 thousand euros get I.Nahovoy .

Kandinsky Prize was established in 2007 . on the initiative of Shalva Breus , publisher of " ArtChronika " and President eponymous fund . Over the past five years laureates in the main nomination became Anatoly Osmolovsky Alexey Belyaev-Gintovt , Vadim Zakharov , Alexander Brodsky and Yuri Albert . The winners successfully exhibited in Riga , Berlin, London .

Russia at the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art 2015 Irina Nakhova present .
Name the artist who will go to the Biennale, called Stella Kesaeva , Stella Art Foundation President and Commissioner of the Russian pavilion . Nakhova become the first woman in the history of Russian pavilion , whose personal project will be displayed at the exhibition. Who will perform the curator of the pavilion will be known later.

Kesaeva , explaining the choice of artist for the Biennale , called Nakhova legendary artist of the Moscow art scene. She is the author of the first in Russia total installation : in one of them the artist completely repainted the room in his apartment in the black.

Nakhova graduated from Moscow Printing Institute since 1994, is Professor of Contemporary Art Detroit University. Before Nakhova became the winner of the Kandinsky Prize , she was nominated for the award twice: in 2007 and 2011. In 2012, Stella Art Foundation held a solo exhibition entitled "Repair ."
Nakhova lives and works in Russia and the United States .
