Painter. Portraits, landscapes , thematic works. People's Artist of Russia , Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Born in the Spitak region , lived and worked in Moscow , where he died. As a schoolboy , won the All-Union competition of the right to study at the Moscow school for gifted children. He graduated from LIZHSA them . By Ilya Repin's studio B.V.Iogansona with diploma work " Stakhanovites Sevanstroya ." Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR ( 1949). Member of the All-Union Art Exhibition "USSR - our Homeland" for the 50th anniversary of the USSR , Moscow (1972). A.S.Papikyan belonged to a remarkable constellation of artists of the 60s . , Left a bright trace in the history of Russian art . In his work united expression of color and decorative Armenian school of painting with plastically rich, emotional beginning of the Moscow school of painting . Personal exhibition was held at the Moscow Academy of Fine Arts ( 2000). Works A.S.Papikyana are in the State Tretyakov Gallery , Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts Academy and the Naval Museum (St. Petersburg), in art galleries Tver , Smolensk and other cities.
