Maybe somebody knows the artist?

"Chartres", 1933.

Just Chartres, I think, not

In the picture and the famous Chartres Cathedral shows.

Oh, and depicted in the fog, and the picture is so pale.

I read the name as "Schmakoff", and the first letter of the name is unclear.
In 2007, the painting was sold: "Schmakoff Montmartre Paris 37".

 
Perhaps this is Shmakov immigrant from Russia.

I guess I could not make out the first letter, all I "t" saw.

He started with the signature of the letter "C".

Here's an artist R.Birchansky, name spelling Birchansky R.
A signature on the work Birtchansky R.
Perhaps Shmarov and signed with the initial letter T.
Tchmaroff?

No, I'm talking about signature Shmarova in pictures, about his signature, but not about the spelling of his surname Latin at all.

Painting, in my opinion, is somewhat similar.
These stable "thoughtful" architectural motifs in the haze ...
But the name, of course, is not very suitable for the signature on the canvas ..
