Oscar Rabin. The graphics in MAMM
 

in the Multimedia Art Museum will host an exhibition on July 19 graphics Rabin, one of the leaders of the Soviet nonconformist movement.

The exhibition marks the 85th anniversary of the artist.

The exposition will feature the works of the early period of the artist, covering the period from 1954 to 1966, when he was experimenting in the spirit of "Russian pop art." It was in the 1950s and 60s Rabin forms a circle of subjects that interest him, and develops a recognizable artistic language.

Part of the exhibition are 41 graphic works from the collector Alexander Kronik. He collected the non-conformists, the representatives of the "second avant-garde", including works by Anatoly Zverev and Vladimir Yakvoleva. Exhibited in MAMM works will be accompanied by comments Kronik recorded the words of Rabin.

In addition, the exhibition will display four easel paintings from the collection of Rabin Tsukanov Family Foundation, dedicated to the "Lianozovo the universe." House Rabin Lianozovo, where he was born, was one of the centers of the informal culture.

Most of the works presented in MAMM, will be on display to the public for the first time. The exhibition runs until September 8.

Oscar Rabin was born in Moscow in 1928, he studied at the Academy of Arts in Riga, then in the Surikov Institute, from which he was expelled for "formalism". The first solo exhibition was held in 1965 in London. As one of the leaders of the underground art hounded him in the Soviet press, in 1978, deprived of citizenship. Rabin lives in Paris.

Did Rabin was born in Lianozovo?
One always thought that at the barracks, he moved in 1958, when he married on Kropivnickogo.

I think not, according to all the biographies was born in Moscow, and about Lionozovo - it is to the press service of MAMM, part of the press release which I took in my posts.
