H. Harder painting for discussing
Вложений: 4
It is proposed to discuss the old watercolor.
Dimensions 50 x 70 cm For many years, is in the family, the original origin is unknown. According to the information gathered by the Internet, we can assume that it belongs to the Danish artist Harder, Johannes (Hans) Georg Smith (12.8.1792, Copenhagen - 25.11.1873, Sorø). He worked under the pseudonym Hans Harder. Information about it very little. That's what is on my English. Harder, Johannes (Hans) Georg Smith, was born 12.8.1792 in Copenhagen and died 25.11.1873 in Sorø. His fathers name was Johan Harder and he was also a painter. He was married in 1837 to Anna Agnete Prytz (1803-1859). He started at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1806. He travelled in Europe in 1825-29 (Munich, Italy and Austria). For most of his life (1822-62) he worked as a drawing master at Sorø Akademi (a boarding school for the boys of the aristocracy). Harders favourite motif became the countryside of Sealand especially the area around Sorø with its hills, vegetation, lakes and scattered buildings. Harder was originally influenced by Jens Juel and thereafter followed the development of the romantic landscape. Link to the Danish Wikipedia: http://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johanne...g_Smith_Harder The picture allegedly shows Lüneburg moor. Judging from the biography of the artist, the picture probably written during his travels in Europe (1825-29 years), since then until his death he was in Denmark, in the town of Sora. Frame with glass, too old, it is possible that the first half of the 19 century. I wanted to know the opinion of experts about the picture and get advice on its restoration. |
Lüneburg moor
I can confirm that the picture Lüneburg moor in the so-called "ideal" form.
Ie so it looked 150 years ago in a slightly glamorized designer status. Also I do not understand the mountains and clouds may be in the background. If this is the mountain, they're unnecessary. According to Artprice.com the artist's paintings went from 200 to 3350 euros depending on size, technology and quality. Price your pictures on the European market in the region of 200 - 300 euros.
