Unique furniture of the Romanov family at Bukowskis
 

Belonged to the royal Romanov family unique furniture group, which is preparing to sell on the international auction Bukowskis 13-14 May, was found in Finland, the press-service auction house.
"The existence of the silver group was known to old photographs. It is therefore no exaggeration to call the discovery a sensation," - said the deputy director of the museum "Tsarskoe Selo" Iraida Bott, commenting on the find.
No details about the circumstances that led to the discovery of furniture, not reported. It is only said that the group consists of 11 parts.
Furniture was located in the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg in the Silver salon - private salon of the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna - and was sold in 20-ies of the last century.
Furniture, covered with silver, was made in the workshop Svirsky in 1894 based on sketches by the architect commissioned by Nabokov Catherine the Great.
Initially the group consisted of 15 parts. Thus, while not found are four subjects.
Auction house Bukowskis was founded in Stockholm in 1870, exiled Polish nobleman Henrik Bukowski. In Finland, the Department of the auction house there since 1979.
