This - the painting in its pure form, the work on shape, color, texture, devoid of literariness. There is nothing throws, vulgar, widely ramified, it is full of noble self-restraint and rigor, are classical in the highest sense of the word.
Its magnificent scenery in a completely incomprehensible to me the reasons are less known.

Giorgio Morandi was born in 1890 in Bologna. Very young he discovered Cezanne, and then - paintings by Italian masters Kvattrochento - Giotto, Piero della Francesca, Uccello, Masaccio - that determined his fate artist.

Shortly thereafter, he became acquainted with the Futurists, and participated in several group exhibitions.
After the war, opened Morandi "metaphysical painting" De Chirico and Carra, but this enthusiasm was short-lived.

In the 20-ies. Morandi gradually lost interest in the avant-garde movements. He created his own world, physical and mental, which he represented.
Until the end of his life he worked in the city where he was born and where he died in 1964 - Bologna.
