In the village Gavrilovskaya Kargopolsky area burned wooden Pokrovo-Vlasevskiy church (the Church of the Most Holy Mother of God) and the bell tower of XVIII century at Lyadinskom churchyard. The site of the regional Emergencies Ministry reported that the fire of unique monuments of Russian architecture of the North took place in the evening on May 5.

According to the MOE, the cause of fire was lightning that hit the church. The fire broke out in a tent-dome of the church, and then began to spread down the wooden structures. In addition, the fire spread to the nearby bell tower is located 20 meters high, resulting in the fire area is 400 square meters.

The first information about the fire came around 20:45 Moscow time, and the fire was localized at 00:05. According to the MOE, to extinguish the fire were sent to five tankers and 14 firefighters who were rescued from the fire three wooden monument at the churchyard - devyatiglavuyu Epiphany Church built in 1793.

Church of the Intercession Vlasevskiy acting, dates from the year 1761. It was partially preserved ancient iconostasis, as well as twelve-painted by the "sky" of the XVIII century. The church belongs to the only preserved in the district Kargopolsky triple ensemble and one of four across Russia. The complex of three facilities in the village Lyadiny is a monument of federal significance.
