Well, how is unknown - was a baron Ivan Dalgeym , aka Jean Pierre d'Alheim, was born in 1840 in Kursk province , died in 1894 at the historic home in Paris. Russian painter, lived and worked in France and Italy. Master of genre painting , urban landscape , seascape , floral still lifes.
In the period from 1848 to 1861 , Jean Dalgeym studied with prominent Swiss artist Alexander Kalam - very popular in the Russian aristocratic circles . And the picture is very similar in style .
