Gustave Moreau ( Fr. Gustave Moreau)
(1826-1898) , French painter, one of the leading representatives of symbolism in the painting , the author of numerous works on mythological, biblical, literary themes .
Born April 6, 1826 in Paris, the son of an architect. He studied at the School of Fine Arts , has been influenced by Theodore Chasseur .

In 1888, Moreau was elected to the Academy of Fine Arts, and in 1891-1892 he was a professor at the School of Fine Arts in Paris , succeeding spot Delaunay.
To his disciples, are Henri Matisse , Georges Rouault, Odilon Redon , Albert Marquet.

Gustave Moreau died of cancer on April 18, 1898 . Buried in Montparnasse ( in the same grave with his parents ) in Paris.

Franz von Stuck 1863-1928
 

Franz von Stuck (Franz von Stuck; 1863-1928) German painter, sculptor , architect and decorator. The representative of symbolism , one of the founders of the Munich Secession and Art Nouveau ( from the name of the art magazine Jugend, in which the Units are actively involved ) . Each features paintings connection allegory and eroticism , as well as the dynamism and expressiveness .
His influence is experienced young W. Kandinsky and P. Klee.
In 1898 he completed the construction of Villa Stuck on his own project , interpret the shape of Greek classics in the forms of Art Nouveau.
His contemporaries called him "the prince of Painting"

I was very impressed with his " Lucifer ." Prince of Darkness is not so often portrayed , and that very rarely so effectively. However, for the thing - it's not something special. Lucifer had the same mythological character as, say centaurs . What impresses me . This is a view of the artist and mystic.
