His main teacher was sure believed M. V. Nesterov, who took considerable interest in his life and the creative development.
He painted landscapes (especially sea), genre and monumental compositions, portraits (including a portrait of Dmitri Shostakovich, 1943), still lifes.
The most famous of his work "Ocean", "Wave", "Thistle", "Requiem" and the cycle "Poppies", actually became his "calling card".
One of his best paintings — the painting "the Ocean" (1985, H), Lev Bogomolets, in 1997, gave the people of France during the visit of Jacques Chirac in St. Petersburg, as a sign of admiration the life of the outstanding feat of marine Explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau.(See PT. in Wikipedia).
