The famous Russian painter and graphic artist. Born in Warsaw. He studied at the Warsaw School of Drawing (1874 - 1876) and the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts ( 1876) . In 1877 , 1878 and 1879 received a silver medal in 1880 - a small gold in 1881 - a gold , the title of the class artist grade 1 and overseas pensionerstvo . He lived in Paris and Rome. From 1886 - Academician of historical painting. He painted mainly on ancient and historical subjects, has created a number of genre scenes. Author of a series of etchings .
