From 1873 he lived mainly in France. From 1858 - Academician from 1861 - professor. Artist of the Naval Staff (since 1853). Participated in exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts (since 1853), the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions ( since 1871 ), the Moscow Art Lovers Society , the Society of Russian watercolors ( 18620 . Founder Saratov Radischevskaya Museum (now - Saratov State Art Museum Radishshev ), the initiator creating art school in Saratov (1897) - Bogolyubov drawing school (now - Saratov Art school named after Bogolyubov ).
