Prospect of a new online gallery or auction
In the west, there is already a lot of projects where you can buy art online (eg ArtMazher , Arts ), and we have a decent sites ( ArtNau ).
I would like to understand - how they cover the needs of the artistic fraternity on the one hand , and the buyers of collectors , investors on the other? And if you put the question in a more practical level - what is the chance to take off in a new independent (not having offline gallery behind) website for the sale of paintings by different authors ? To my mind , all these sites are many disadvantages in terms of the modern buyer (design, usability, presentation of information, the lack of basic pieces like easy search and so on). But it is possible that the CA in the form of art and real buyers perceive all fine. Or not? |

1. What are the chances of success in an online gallery in Russia? In the West, there is quite successful projects , but there is and the size of the market is quite different. 2. What areas of painting and the price range have a chance to go on the Internet? 3. What are the key ingredients for success , to your taste - to attract talented artists , promotion among collectors , ease of transactions ? |
Any new raschudesny terms of usability online project a lot of problems :
1. Attendance - attracting targeted traffic, expensive and time consuming. 2. Marketing legitimacy , that is the name brand. Long and expensive. 3. Key marketing advantage . What will take a new project? In particular, who determine prices? The artists themselves , as you stand on the sidelines? there are many. Can be developed further: how to build and motivate wealthy people to spend money on consumer goods, which are not considered prestigious ? Even if everything is done in the right recipe , the risks are high. |
As I have said (see my topic ), the Internet - it's just a means of communication (link, hypertext environment ). Hence , the art ( subject area ) - Single , and communication - separately. And if you do not share these entities - alas ... received another ... Twelve online mess. He, too, dump a good thing, it can be a lucrative business (see Recycling plants ) , but it is (still ) is not art business . When divide - it is obvious that all rests on the subject matter, that is to say in the content .

Virtually any business, from my observations, begins fully stand up no earlier than three years after the start, and before that - costs money, time and nerves ... Thus, certain costs to drive traffic and build a brand - it is common for any web issues, and on-line gallery only question is what to put on a good is having a definite chance to succeed, to catch the wave of the market. There is, whether such a wave and the demand for art in Russia? Question. Цитата:
How to gather interested people - again, if it is good content and a convenient wrapper, they have gradually tightened. The question in the right marketing and advertising costs. The risks are great, the prospects are vague - that's why I created this thread to gather different views on the idea. |

If you look more broadly, Russia at a rapid pace through all the stages that Western society has for decades (if not for centuries ). And if now the Western art market is quite serious on the turnover , and swirling in it people with different tasks and volume of the purse - why do you refuse to Russia in a similar , albeit in 5-10 years? PS: I generally also quite pessimistic , but if you look at Moscow , the interests /views /tastes /basket of consumption average Muscovite is getting closer and closer to the same slice of the New Yorker and Munich , in my opinion. 10 years ago on the streets of Russian cities " gopas chasing punks " and hipsters running the show today > |
