Arapov Anatoly Afanasevich (1876-1949)
Arapov Anatoly Afanasievich was born in St. Petersburg. He studied at MUZHVZ (1897-1906). In 1911 he traveled to Germany, Switzerland and Italy.
At exhibitions from 1904. (MUZHVZ). In 1907. - Participant "Blue Rose", 1910. - CPX in Kiev in 1911, 1912, 1913 - "World of Art" in St. Petersburg, 1914. - Exhibition of paintings and sculptures "Artists in Moscow - victims of war", the exhibitors' Theatrical decorative art in the Soviet Union 1917-1927 "in the Academy of Arts in Leningrad," Artists of the Soviet theater (1917-1935gg.) In Leningrad (1936), Moscow (1945 ., 1947., 1956., 1957.).
In the theater, working with 1905 .. Designed productions in theaters NN Zlobin and Free Theatre (Moscow), Komissarzhevskaya (Petrograd). After 1917. designed productions in theaters in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Vitebsk, Saratov and other cities.
He worked in film studios in Moscow and Leningrad, "Decembrists" (1926g.), "The Poet and the King" (1927), "Caste Kalinowski" (1928), "The Feast of St. Jorgen" (1930), "Bride" (1936 ).
Theater and cinema artist, painter and graphic artist. He started his career as a symbolist, in 1920 - constructivist, from 1930 - socialist realist. Theater and film works are marked with a sharp sense of style, so to the characteristic.
Very individual in easel painting (oil, tempera, pastel). Among his works - portraits, still lifes with views of old parks, ancient architecture, memorable places connected with the life of A. Pushkin, PI Tchaikovsky, A. Ostrovsky, T. Shevchenko.
He lived and died in Moscow.
