Presentation of the Gospel with illustrations Myuda Marievicha Mechev
 

New edition of the Gospel illustrated by People's Artist of Russia, graphics Myuda Mechev was presented today in Moscow, RIA News.

Mechev created more than 300 drawings of all four books of the Gospel. The work lasted 15 years - from 1991 to 2006.

In his illustrations Mechev showed concreteness, the authenticity of the events described in the Gospel. The artist tried to convey their historical, ethnic, ethnographic authenticity. He managed to draw a recognizable portrait of a living person of Jesus Christ and to transmit the eternal, the Millennium continuing presence of God on earth.

Work Myuda Mechev located in the State Tretyakov Gallery, ROSIZO, Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia, the State Kremlin Palace, Rossiyskom Cultural Foundation, the museums of Russia and the CIS, the assembly of the National Library of Congress, a meeting of the Vatican, fund Eero Rantanen, a meeting of the Finnish National Bank in private collections in Russia and abroad.

Exhibitions of the artist's place in Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, Britain, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, New Zealand. Awarded by the Government of Finland, a large silver medal Elias Lönnrot for services in the study and illustration of "Kalevala".

Pope John - Paul II awarded the silver medal of the Pontificate of the artist for humanism and achievement in the arts.
