The Great Soviet Encyclopedia - Aslamazyan Mariam Arshakovna [p . 20.11 (3.12) .1907 , p. Bash Chirac near Leninakan ] Soviet painter , People's Artist of the Armenian SSR ( 1965). Member of the CPSU since 1946. She graduated from the Yerevan Fine Arts and Industrial College (1929, studied at S. Arakelian and C. Aghajanian ) and the Leningrad Academy of Arts (1933, studied with K. N. Istomin and Kuzma Petrov -Vodkin ). A. - the representative of the Armenian school of decorative still life planar ( "The Armenian still life" , 1955, "Blooming Red Cactus " 1957 - both in the Tretyakov Gallery ), author of narrative scenes (" Return of the Hero " , 1943, "The Song of a Hero" , 1944 " heroine Mother " 1949 - all in the Picture Gallery of Armenia , Yerevan), portrait
