I made the topic, there pictures of villages - Wanderers XIX century rest, like a time machine that Kriegsberishter transported back in time)

Asmus Remmer was born October 18, 1909 in Germany in Langbalig. He worked as a photographer, specializing in portraiture, genre and landscape photography. Was the owner of his own studio with a darkroom. In 1937 he passed the examination for the title of master of photography. From 1940 to 1945. - Wehrmacht. He served in the infantry in 1942-1943. participated in operations in Russia, then in France. In May 1945, the U.S. was in a POW camp, where he returned in the autumn of the same year.

Asmus Remmer's diary: "We were dropped off at the station in Pavlinova (Kaluga region) in Kirov forest near Moscow. We made a long night shift, before before sunrise saw the first Russian village. Snow-covered house was unexpected. From the chimneys in the pink morning sky smoke rising. Russian woman to draw water from the well. I felt as if I had read the Bible, and I said, "And here we are at war?". At that moment, I felt sick and my companions made me into the house. When he awoke, he saw standing in front of me on my knees Russian girl who watered me with a teaspoon hot milk with honey. I told her: "I could kill your husband, and you're worried about me."

As we passed through other Russian villages, the more I realized that it would be correct to conclude as soon as possible with the Russian world. To make me pictures show that the Russian did not care about my uniform and treated me more as a friend! In search of interesting subjects I passed a lot more than my friends. Ahead of our column, I took a photo of a long line of beautiful horse-drawn carts trees. It's called "How in 1812." We went through more than 1,000 miles into the Russian Empire, and all the while I kept thinking, what a state we will leave this country when we leave it ... ".
