Past: dolls and the war ... (1914 -1915)
 

Dolls and war ... What a strange link that connected the ancient illusion of childhood innocence, pure and serene joyful, with the most severe and merciless fact of life, with the final expression of the struggle for existence, with the war?
Touching and so unexpectedly deep here at random, unexpected meaning - that dear "puppet show" at the big exhibition "Artists of Moscow - the victims of war." (Passed in House passage Kamergersky Lianozovo number 3.)
   Let the random very idea of this exhibition - this happy thought. As the movement is converted into heat, so happiness must go in kindness.
Dolls of the exhibition - not just a doll. It gave the luster luxury art, art - the nobility of luxury. Much laughter was painted a cheerful clever invention, the mind and elevated aggravated laughter.
These figurines imprinted not only a love relationship to a small delicate task - to create an elegant and charming doll in them some kind of miracle lurking and the quest for good purpose, the desire that little random thing to serve at least slightly, at least a few great common cause.
