A rare work in the field of advertising and illustration of the remarkable artist Alexander Petrovich Apsita (Apsītis).
(1880, Riga - 1944, Germany). 1989-1899 - studied in St. Petersburg, in the studio LE Dmitrieva-Caucasian. 1900-1910 - served in the Moscow Art Circle "Environment". In 1902-1916 a lot of drawing for the magazine "Rodina", "The Star", "Niva", "Zeitgeist" (1905-1907), "Dawn", illustrated the works of Tolstoy, Chekhov, N. Leskov, Maxim Gorky. Participated in exhibitions of "environment", in the exhibition «Blanc et Noir», in an exhibition of paintings by Russian artists in 1912 (Moscow). From 1921 - in Latvia. "He worked surprisingly easy and fast, managing to maintain almost all of the pre-revolutionary Moscow", - recalled the artist Pavlov. |
