A coin and a gold brooch, kept in the Usak museum, were replaced by fakes in early 2006. The substitution was discovered in May of that year, when the Turkish police received an anonymous letter with information about phishing and began checking the authenticity of items.

Location of originals are still unknown.

Coin and a gold brooch were part of a large "Lydian hoard" of 363 gold objects, some of which were smuggled from Turkey in 1960. In 1993, these two items were returned to Turkey at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Oil on canvas, look at large will not regret it. Interestingly someone buys and hang on to his wall, and it will delight the eye. : D

I was once struck by our mutual borrowing and Turkish languages, but killed the most, that our expression of astonishment at the stupidity, which is: "What are you, Turks, or what?"
Turkey sounds "exactly the opposite:" What are you, Russian, or something? ": D

"What are you, the Turks, whether that ?",
I first time I heard this expression in English lessons in the 4th or 5th grade, a teacher of English. It is stupidity for us to say: "What do you like the Turks?". Tell us something about English, we are silent, and it is us "What do you like the Turks?" Now remember - ridiculous.

from the English teacher

Kostya, English should be taught by male teachers, but not in women.
Believe the word.

Then it was hard to choose.

Laughableness I see in combination: taught us English and called him by the Turks. And then, incidentally, the first time I came to my mind the national question - why she (teacher) believes Turk fools?
And funny, when I served in the army, all Asians were called Indians.
