KULCHYTSKY ELENA L. (1877-1967 gg.), Ukrainian schedule, the national artist of Ukraine. She was born September 15, 1877 in Berezhany, now Ternopil region (Ukraine). She studied at the studio, and C. R. Bratkovskaya Kachora-Batovskii Lviv (1901-03 gg.) In Art and Design School in Vienna (1903-08).. She taught at the Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute in Lviv (1945-51 gg., Since 1948 - professor). In 1956, Elena Lvovna was awarded the title People's Artist of Ukraine. Her watercolor illustrations and graphic cycles in generalized decorative forms convey the originality of nature and architecture of Western Ukraine (the cycle of watercolors "folk architecture of the western regions of Ukraine"), the past and the Hutsul life (series of etchings "Huzulschyna", 1935).
Kulchytska creativity in arts and crafts based on a thorough study of the Ukrainian folk art. She was awarded two orders and medals. Helen L. Kulchitskaya died March 8, 1967 in Lviv, at the age of 90. State Prize of the USSR it. Shevchenko (1967, posthumously).
