Dear art lovers
Maybe some of you can guess the school period and this picture? oil /canvas 38 x 28 cm Exhibited in "Fogg Museum of Art", Cambridge, Mass. Thank you! |
Well, it is in the style of Bernardo Strozzi, but probably written a hundred years later.
|
Maybe Flemish school?

I agree with you, but the story reminds me of someone from the 17th century. May be a copy? I wrote to the museum, but they are unlikely to tell the artist of this painting. Added after 35 minutes Can be defined as: Italian School of the 18th century. Here's peers: http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19056/lot/24/ http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19816/lot/156/ http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19852/lot/248/ I guess what the picture was exhibited in "Fogg Museum" does not give value. |
I say, look at the work of Bernardo Strozzi and around it.

Received a reply from "Fogg Art Museum":
"The picture has been here from November 21 to December 22, 1938 and our records show that she was here in the Research Department. The records information is available : Portrait of an elderly woman , Spain , 17th century ." What do you think - I need to investigate further, or the study did not produce any results ? Bonhams at the price of these paintings - 200-300 dollars. |

I made a few new photos.
I was told that the picture was taken in the 17th century. Can this be true? What do you think, is it worth doing chemical analysis? |
