Added after 3 minutes 39 minutes Provenance of the portrait ( Michael's , 186h93 ) is not quite clear. Hard to believe that the young king sat for a long time by the German artist from the embassy , headed by Adam Oleariusom . It is believed that he was led to drawing from life in gratitude for the production of maps of the Volga River during a trip to Persia from Muscovy . I assume that he could sit for fifteen minutes ! Already vTallinne who then commissioned Blackheads on this drawing a portrait . Later Estonian artist Johann Heinrich Wedekind made a copy and it is now in the Tretyakov Gallery. Or we have a copy of the original portraits in the Tretyakov Gallery ? If interested in the history of writing this portrait. Maybe someone from the members of the forum know the history of the writing of these portraits ? I would be very grateful. |
