Kovalenko Zhivago (1931 - 2004)

Ukrainian painter and theater artist . Born in Pryluky, Chernihiv region . He studied at the Odessa Theatre and Art School (1952 - 1959) and the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema (1965 - 1969) in N. Akimov , Ivan Korotkov and Vladimir Hovralevoy . In 1959 - 1965 he worked at the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Odessa Music and Drama Theatre . In 1971 - 1981 he taught at the OXY . Grekov . Exhibitions since 1968. Solo exhibitions were held in 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1984 (Odessa ), 1983 (Ismail ) abroad - in 1972 (Bulgaria ) and 1979 (Hungary). One of the brightest representatives of non-conformity. In 2000 a book by O. Gubareva " man in the street of Tiraspol " dedicated to Yuri Kovalenko. His works are in the Odessa XM , the Museum of Modern Art in Odessa , etc.
