Karpov, Stepan Mikhailovich (1890-1929)
He studied at the Kazan Art School (1905-11) in N.I.Feshina,
then at the Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and
Architecture at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg (1911-17), the Petrograd State Free Art Workshops (1921-22) and at GRZaleman DN Kardovsky.
Prizes awarded the Imperial Academy of Arts
for the painting "Nero on fishing" (1912) and "Pirates" (1913).
One of the organizers of the Orenburg kraevedchesekogo museum, an art studio in Orenburg, where he taught with his wife S.V.Ryanginoy.
Chairman of the Orenburg "Union of Artists and painters."
Since 1922 he has held management positions in AHRR.
Participation in exhibitions - from 1916.
