The exhibition "Behind the Iron Curtain. Official and independent art in the Soviet Union and Poland. 1945-1989 "is the art of the two countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This attempt at a comparative analysis of the features of the artistic process of the second half of XX century in the next two Soviet bloc countries is devoted to the positions of artists in relation to the totalitarian system.

For the first time in one area there are over 100 works (paintings, drawings and sculpture) by artists such as Francisco Infante, Edward Gorokhovskiy, Max Birstein, Katarzyna Kobro and Vladislav Strezheminsky, Edward Steinberg, Dmitri Krasnopevtsev, Nicholas Vechtomov, Vladimir Nemukhin, Vladimir Yankilevsky, Marian Chaplygin, Vladimir Yakovlev, Tadeusz Kantor, etc. All the work (and that 122 of the 74 artists) - the creator of the Fund from the collection of Polish contemporary art Peter Nowicki. The exhibition is an example of "problem presentation" collection when on the basis of the collected material is the artistic interpretation of the political, social and artistic processes in the life of both countries for fifty years after the war.
