Present to you the first short fotorezyume Kiev Biennale of Contemporary Art.
Who was not, still can fix it: the action is completed in 3 hours after midnight of 30 to 31 th.
(You can pass the rest of the night, passing a road in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra).

To inspect the exhibits need to fuel a 2 kilometer path plus six and a half hours of patience - if you want to watch all the videos. (Gentlemen - taking into account the distractions - and the interesting attendees volonterok - need more resources).)

The lady in the photo - Natalia Zabolotnaya glavorg Biennale. The chief curator - David Elliott - not so photogenic, therefore, not presented here).

The Silk Road Modern Art now runs along the London-Paris-Kiev-Beijing-Tokyo, absorbing the trail from Africa, Poland, Russia, USA and so the art of provinces). This fact is recorded in the selection of artists David Elliott.

Arsenal Kiev - a wonderful exhibition space, which is hard to ruin a poor exposure: a view from the crap he runs and walks in the pleasure of the kinks and the shadows of ancient masonry. In this exhibition, the eyes were not many reasons for such escapism.

Irresponsible behavior of my camera battery is partly offset by pictures of official website events, and his feysbukovskogo branch.
Tails of the names of photos from outside sources are marked with "_".

If you add the text labels describing the sculpture Eye Veyveya that in response to the return of China put up for auction in 2009 Paris original animal heads , their current owner has put forward a counter- condition for release of Tibet, it will come before a social commentary that , at first opinion, the purely astral animalistics .

Typically, the following principle: a look at the product , and only then on the name.
The charm of gizmos , images are presented below, suggest the master - and it was nice to read : Louise Bourgeois.
This is one of my favorite artists.

But the three metal temple Bourgeois unlikely to get the audience award - it is not refined and not too showy installation.

Titles of works:
What moves the world?
Suspected N2.
Cage (Black days).

The latest installation is dated 2006. Compare with the year of birth of the author.

Actually, reading concepts for exhibitions is not the best way to burn the life, but occasionally curators can cook up a decent seasoning of letters to the video.
Put in the main body of the spoiler concept to David Elliott ARSENALE 2012 - for those who will intrigue the name of this text:
"The Best of Times, the worst of times - and the revival of the apocalypse in contemporary art".

Following the first lines of the famous novel by Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities »(A Tale of Two Cities, 1859), events which occur during the French Revolution, this exhibition makes a leap into the present day to reflect on how modern and ickusstvo aesthetics of the past used to display the future.

The ideals of human rights and freedoms that have been developed in Europe in the Age of Enlightenment in the XVIII century, found its first political expression in the American and French revolutions. By combining ideology and action, they caused a long chain of national uprisings, which today affect the world. But despite good intentions, "human rights" are limited, and at the heart of every revolution is both the worst and best of human thought and action. They reflect on the exhibition theme of utopian dreams of equality, freedom and security, filling our lives today, and comprehends their opposites - the terror, inequality and war. It is these destructive forces, caused by man and nature, make it impossible for the improved survival of mankind.

On the one hand, the "best" and "worst" may be understood as opposites, as part of a rational, materialistic
dialectics of the West, in which being is dependent both on the choice and the circumstances. However, on the other hand, the "best" and "worst" are part of a cyclical movement, in which uncontrolled, at first glance, the forces destroying the most beautiful dreams, the worm destroys the collective lust for personal balance, but even on a bare wasteland punched green shoots of hope. In the "worst case" contains the atonement, and the "best" - this is an illusion, usually hatched seeds of its own
destruction. This approach can be found in many aspects of Eastern thought.

The exhibition will unfold in Kiev Slavonic historical city, which is located at the crossroads of traditional ways of trade and migration between East, West, North and South. Kiev State in the IX century, the Vikings took to the North than it has increased its international importance. At different times of the Huns, Khazars, Mongols, Pechenegs, the Scythians, Tatars, and many other nomadic peoples from the East took place on this earth, and sometimes settled on it. Eurasian diaspora legacy big land shown in several studies of this exhibition, which presents artists from Ukraine and former CIS countries close to the authors from the North, South, West, and especially from the East.

Along with the reflection of history and genealogy of the region, this approach appeals to the recent disruptions in the balance of wealth and power, when the legacy of European Enlightenment is subject to revision. The crisis of socialism and the idea of public space in general, the vicissitudes of the Alliance in the Gulf and Afghanistan, corporate greed and the virtual demise of capitalism, the Jasmine Revolution in North Africa, transparently exposed how the alleged hegemony of the West is fatally compromised its own self-interest. Today, the global poverty reaches record levels, despite the availability of resources to improve the situation.

Robbery environment lasts, and it certainly destroys our future. The ideals of freedom, democracy and human rights are considered an appendage of cynical power - the goods, which, like the humanitarian aid is distributed sparingly, spreading along the way silence and submission. Emerges only scheme: the rich are getting richer, and nobody wants to give up on anything. But amid this mad whirl entirely unclear whether it is possible to find any acceptable alternatives.

Intelligence, intuition and humanity of artists who have created works for the exhibition, are not aimed at addressing these issues - they are, rather, inspired by his example. Critical, sardonic, sometimes humorous and iconoclastic views on the world of these authors, their ability to think and see beyond that from time to time, we ourselves create, their clarity and devotion to the truth of art give us the energy to move forward - in order to witness and appreciate the subtle reasons and consequences of life, which actually is the source of art. And it is a necessary prelude to action.

"The exhibition includes works by a hundred artists will be organized around four main ideas:

- indefatigable spirit
A look at how we get power from the beliefs, myths and concepts of the universe, beyond the control of the material needs

- In the name of the Order
The study of how under the guise of rational government is trying to dominate the culture through the establishment of mercantile hierarchy

- flesh
As a central theme taken a human body, its appetites, desires and limitations

- An uneasy sleep
Focus on nightmares and premonitions catastrophe, without which we would not be able to change "(DE)

The main text Elliott is reduced, if briefly, to the list of problems of the contemporary world order because of the crisis gave rise to this

the order of the Enlightenment, and the observation that selected for participation in the project, the artists do not address these issues))
As for the "4 main ideas," it is the eternal whale avatars, upon which an art: arhetipika plus the rational and irrational conflict (government and anarchy), the flesh and spirit, consciousness and unconsciousness.

It seems that his forever-concept deprived of bread Elliott curator of the Biennale and the arsenal of the future ...)
Anyway, the idea of the exhibition interesting, and their graphics, designed by the project, in my opinion, very successful.

(PS. drawings inserted in random order, but let it remain - for those who want to associate their own ideas and icons. Tips - file names.)

Of course, I'm sorry, but I liked most of all exhibits Natalia Zabolotnaya.

There are nice to look at that.

But I have to show self-criticism: those hours she did not go.

Words, words, words ... And all because it is temporarily sitting on the communication channel, slightly pulling load of pictures.

Today, the Biennale was completed, and yesterday handed elephants.
Very large (for a significant contribution to the development of modern art) - British artist Phyllida Barlow (born in 1944).
It is a worthy choice, agrees with the jury.

Opening ARSENALE Award in 2012, designed Ukrainian artists "whose work was the opening to international
artistic community, "went Malyshko Nicholas (born 1938) for his clumsy (in the literal sense, that is made
ax), design and citizen of Lviv Sagaydakovskomu Andrew (born in 1957) for the hand-painted mats.
Strange, but here I agree with the expert advice. I note that both champions represented a gallery - Gallery Paul Gudimova.

Audience favorites were Japanese Chiharu Shiota and Yayoy Kusama and Chinese Song Dong.
My heart goes out Kusama.

Ispolat, Comrade. Guriev, Igor! Glad to see you everywhere. Put it to you three SENC - as someone self-critical, and both exhibit - from Mrs. Biennale Commissioner - for the ideologically correct choice.
Happy hours are not watching: sorry for your misfortune. <! - ~ 2 ~ ->)

Now try to get at least a few photos.

Yayoy (Yayoi, Yayoi) Kusama (b. 1929)

Yayoi Kusama represented Japan three times at the Venice Biennale, now adequately presented in the Cathedral.
Those who follow the auction Christie's, will recall that in 2008 its "Abstract № 2 '1959, was sold at auction for 5,794,500 dollars, becoming the most expensive painting by living artists.

Photo 1 in a series of five shots - Yayoi Kusama.
In the picture 2 - installation "The consequences of the destruction of eternity," a snapshot 3 - Installation "Traces of the Future" (These pictures are taken from the Arsenal website 2012).
In photo 4 - canvas "enlightened souls on Earth" and "Eternal Love, shining in the heavenly world."
In the photo next to the five abstractions Kusama seen a young Japanese artist of Tomoko Kashik.

Photos can not convey the psychedelic effect of the stay in the space of Yayoi Kusama installation, but I tried to recreate at least a hint of it)) - 3 shots in the second row.

"The consequences of the destruction of eternity" - a tank with glass walls and covering the floor with water, floating weightlessly in which a few lights, fireflies, do not scatter the darkness, but endlessly proliferating in the mirrors. When you come back - on a tiny patch of land - and closes the door behind a mirror, the time and space coordinates with all of a sudden disappear - and the mind is absorbed by a wave of wonderful, strange sensations, which can not find the analogy.
In the language of reason, turns the word "nirvana" ... In any case, I would not hesitate to give a week vacation in the Caribbean on the daily confinement in this pavilion Kusama.
Alas, in real life the next minute you replace those wishing to join the flow.

Abstract painter far inferior to the strength of its objects, so I leave the picture without comment.

To 100%.
I seemed less obvious "flesh", but it is calculated by the method of exclusion.

It has long intended to clarify who among us is capable of doing such a beautiful design.
It turned out - not from us. Author symbolism - Jonathan Barnbruk (Jonathan Barnbrook), owner of London's leading design bureau Barnbrook Design.
