Yakovlev, Boris (1890-1972) - Soviet painter, People's Artist of the RSFSR (1962), corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1958). He studied at the Moscow School of Painting , Sculpture and Architecture ( 1915-13 ) in A. Vasnetsov and A. Stepanov. AHRR member ( 1922-32 ). Taught in VGIKs ( 1956-63 , professor from 1960 ). The founder of the Soviet industrial landscape (" Getting getting better ", 1923 , Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow; "Cranes come " , 1958-59 , Russian Museum, Leningrad, etc.). Ya work featuring a wide manner of writing, pasty texture.
