in St. Petersburg Russian Museum displays an unknown Karl Bryullov
Exhibition "The famous and the unknown Carl Bryullov" opens at the Mikhailovsky Castle of the Russian Museum. The centerpiece of the exhibition will take pictures of the "Italian Album" (consisting of 33 sheets of genre sketches and one leaf with an inscription by the artist Countess Wittgenstein), the unknown is not only a wide audience, but also to art historians, with the exception of a narrow circle of specialists. The works date from the 1828-1832 album for years. - Drawings, "Italian Album" is a picture of Italian national types, revealing the artist's interest in working directly with nature that makes this series of graphics among its traditional Italian genre works - comment on the Russian Museum. - One of the most important features of the exhibition is that it is the result of research drawing from the "Italian Album". It will feature multimedia materials that demonstrate the stages of learning patterns, including the process of comparing them with the long-known works by the artist. The exhibition is also expected to exhibit the works of Italian Bryullov from the Russian Museum.
