Is it safe to scan graphics?

ivan81, no joke - 50 years from now it will be clear . Since the beginning of the application - we have , at least , not yet passed a deadline for the conclusion. As far as I 've heard in the TG used a remote scanner. Of the existing rules for the use of new materials and technologies can competently say restorers . Wait , MB , someone will answer . In my opinion, stick to the scanner , of course, is easier, but better ( safer) still photos.

In conventional scanners, fluorescent lights and the effects of short-term.
I do not think that this could harm the graph.

Toinen, but what about the "bulk" techniques?
Maybe there is something electrified?

Toinen 04.03.2012 12:22

Seema, it seems to me that the impact of the environment is much more devastating.

I have all my graphics scanning.
And many of my friends scan, including watercolors.
Photo quality is still inferior scans.

I practice it too.
Sometimes it works well, sometimes badly scanner lamp lightens the color.

Toinen, you have not answered my question about bulk techniques. Wednesday the medium , but why exacerbate .
In general , ladies and gentlemen , I have a museum approach. Its essence is that in a short (in comparison with eternity ) the period of coexistence with conventional my "thing" none of my decisions and actions should not be changed for the worse its safety . But all attempts to " improve " should be up to a limit of conservative methods. And the decision is taken collectively. Given the risks.
It would be nice to private owners know that their stuff does not belong only to them , but also culture.
Vivian, imagine if your " greatly lightens the color" is not only the results on the screen ( you can color- correct ), but also the subsequent condition of the picture. A pasty from pressing the oil cap as a lead ? Ah, the experimenters ... <! - ~ 2 ~ ->
